Traffic Collision Major: Highway 138 and 150th Street West

Los Angeles County firefighters are working to free a trapped driver of a head on collision on Highway 138 at 150th Street near the solar plant. A large big rig and a pick up truck have entangled on the highway both suffering major damage. One driver is still trapped, possibly a fatal accident scene. CHP will be the contact for media inquiries. Highway 138 is closed in both directions, use 170 west or Ave I to Lancaster or use 245th west to Ave I. The highway will be closed for some time pending the accident review team.

Strong Winter Storm Pounds CA Zone 259

Interstate 5 is closed at the Grapevine with six inches of snow. Strong winds and low temperatures are casuing problems tonight, numerous traffic accidents in LACOFD 77 and 78 district, icy conditions. Hevy snow fall in the Tehachapi Mountains as well. Kern County will be busy with TC trapped calls as well.

Fatal accident this morning on Interstate 5, numerous calls now on Johnson Hill Road, 110 Street West and in the Lake Hughes area.

Winds are gusting to 30 MPH with blowing snow, lows may hit single digits tonight. One inch of snow in Neenach.
