House Fire in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo Fire Department responds to a structure fire with nine people inside

The San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded to a structure fire that had one woman jumping out of a second story window for safety.The fire happened in the 1500 block of Johnson Ave. in San Luis Obispo around 3:38 a.m. Sunday.Fire officials say a total of nine people were staying in the home and five of them were transported to a hospital with smoke inhalation.

When fire officials arrived the two story house was on fire and they began to search for people inside. One young woman jumped out of a second story window onto a porch cover and then to the ground. County/Cal Fire helped San Luis Obispo City Fire.
They say a total of 5 fire engines, 1 truck company, an air support unit, and chief officers were needed. The structure fire is still under investigation.
