Fire Weather Antelope Valley

WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS. A PARTICULARLY DRY AIR MASS IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY...WHEN ISOLATED SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES WILL BE EXPECTED. THE STRENGTHENING ONSHORE FLOW WILL BRING GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS TO THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS EACH AFTERNOON AND EVENING THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE FOCUSED THROUGH THE SOLEDAD CANYON INTO THE FOOTHILLS OF THE ANTELOPE VALLEY...WHERE GUSTS OVER 40 MPH WILL BE COMMON. THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY MAY BRING A FEW LOCATIONS TO NEAR CRITICAL CONDITIONS FOR A FEW HOURS EACH AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING...BUT DURATIONS WILL BE INSUFFICIENT TO REACH RED FLAG THRESHOLDS. SLIGHT WARMING EXPECTED ON MONDAY...THEN ANOTHER COOLING TREND BY MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK AS ANOTHER UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES INTO NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CALIFORNIA.
